The Rivière-à-l’aigle property (119 claims and approx. 6,551 ha.) is in the Windfall lake region, 55 km South of the town of Chapais and 100 km East of Lebel-sur-Quévillon town in Quebec. In the past years, this area was subject to intense exploration work done mainly by Osisko. The property is located within the Hébert pluton defined by tonalitic to dioritic, sometimes gneissic rocks. This pluton is located between the Matagami-Chibougamau and Urban-Barry greenstone belts.
On August 13, 2020, the Corporation optioned out the Rivière-à-l’aigle property to Gitennes Exploration Inc. The agreement will allow Gitennes to obtain up to 85% of the interest in the property. Details of the agreement can be viewed in the press release below. Gitennes has since completed a geophysical and ground exploration program and is advancing its exploration program.
“Kintavar continues to leverage its exploration experience in Quebec and to gradually divest its non-core assets while gaining exposure to gold exploration through those transactions. We are very excited to work with Gitennes who recognized Quebec as a mining-friendly jurisdiction and the gold exploration potential in this province.”
